The Kennebec River was, is, and will continue to be one of the
State’s most important and extraordinarily valuable scenic,
ecological, fisheries, wildlife, recreational, cultural, and economic
assets. The Kennebec River is the central and enduring geographical
feature that either directly or indirectly, connects the people who
inhabit its shores.
The partners and participants in developing the Action
Plan intended it to be a place based initiative designed to lay the
groundwork for a series of real, on the ground accomplishments focused
on the future uses of specific places.
