The following are pictures from the 2008 Maine Farm Days.

Busy at the headquarters site were Guy Piper of Monmouth, announcer, at left, and Fran Hale, Windsor, treasurer, at center. Visiting headquarters were Willie Grenier, Maine Department of Agriculture, who conducted the Milking Contest, with her son Jared Grenier.
Friday
was very busy. Seen here is a full tent of fair folks.
People had lots of questions and the displays and demonstrations were very busy.

During that busy Friday we had the opportunity to show people some of the materials we had on display. We had the chance to explain how to use those materials and other display items in order to address conservation issues. Here we are explaining the Camp Road Maintenance Manual and how to use it for taking care of your gravel roadways.

Clearly some serious business was being taken care of as people looked at all the equipment displays and discussed options. Actually it was probably a discussion about baseball or the barbequed chicken. Who knows?????

The Children's Tent was also very busy. With all the kids in attendance there was a full tent for most of Friday. Saturday was a little less busy.

Helicopter rides were available on Saturday for those who wanted to get a better view of the farm.

On Saturday the weather came rolling in as people were beginning to head home. We managed to survive any bad weather, though the take down operations were a bit damp. As I was removing the signs along the road you can see the dark, wet weather rolling in from the Hinckley area.
