Grant Purpose:

The Maine Trails Program supports the design, development, restoration, and improvement of recreational trails, trailheads, and trail-related amenities throughout Maine. Funding is available for projects that enhance public access, improve trail connectivity, support outdoor recreation and active transportation, and provide long-term community benefits.

Eligible applicants include:
Municipalities, state agencies, nonprofit organizations, trail clubs, and other eligible entities.

Funding range:
Up to $250,000 per project (matching funds required; grants may fund up to 90% of eligible project costs)
