Minnehonk Boat Launch Live Stake/Invasive Removal
KCSWCD and 30 Mile River Watershed Association recently co-hosted the final live staking workshop of the spring season with the Maine Forest Service at the Minnehonk Boat Launch in Mt. Vernon. Participants learned live staking techniques, invasive species identification and removal, and helped install live stakes on site.
Homestead Property Trailhead Live Staking
A live staking workshop at the 7 Lakes Homestead Property, led by District Forester Jared Gregory with the Maine Forest Service, demonstrated best practices for erosion control, including proper installation, species selection, and site-specific considerations.
Temporary Skidder Bridge
The Maine Forest Service and the Maine Association of Conservation Districts offer a program that helps Maine-based logging and forestry professionals access temporary skidder bridges for use during timber harvesting operations.
